How to create a new Questionnaire

From the Questionnaires tab in the project window select "Add new", and a dropdown list will give you 5 options for how to start a new questionnaire.

1. From scratch - Creates a new blank questionnaire.

a) Give the questionnaire a name and a description (optional)

b) Specify a language (the system language, i.e. the one that the error messages will come with)

c) Specify a stylesheet (the file folder will open. Specify a .css file)

d) Specify a logo (the file folder will open. You may upload a new logo from a file folder)

e) If you want these settings (language, stylesheet and logo to be standard, you may save this as your template with a new name)

f) Then "OK". The questionnaire editor will open

2. From existing questionnaire -  Creates a copy of an existing questionnaire.

After having created a series of questionnaires, this will probably be the most relevant way of creating a new questionnaire. All questions, all formatting, stylesheets, languages and logos will be the same. You may of course then alter this after you have started editing.

a) Give the questionnaire a name and a description (optional)

b) Select the project where you will find your existing questionnaire

c) Select the relevant questionnaire from this project

d) References: If you want to match the new data set with the original, you may tick for this ("I intend later...."). If not, select "This is a new questionnaire ...."

e) Remove disabled elements: Normally you will have the latest version of the existing questionnaire, hence this is normally ticked. If you e.g. want a previous version of the original questionnaire, then uncheck.

f) Then "OK". The questionnaire editor will open

3. From data set - Creates a questionnaire based on the structure of a data set.

This may be very useful, specially if you have received a data set from other sources than QuenchTec. If you are using the import wizard in SuperDig, then saving it, it will be listed in the "Analysis" tab in the relevant project. It may be very useful when having legacy data before coming to QuenchTec. Creating a new questionnaire will then normally NOT have any formatting unless data is collected in the QuenchTec suite.

a) Give the questionnaire a name and a description (optional)

b) Select the project where you will find your existing data set

c) Select the relevant data set from this project

d) References: If you want to match the new data set with the original, you may tick for this ("I intend later...."). If not, select "This is a new questionnaire ...."

e) Remove disabled elements: Normally you will have the latest version of the existing questionnaire, hence this is normally ticked. If you e.g. want a previous version of the original questionnaire, then uncheck (Only relevant if data is collected in the QuenchTec suite)

f) Then "OK". The questionnaire editor will open

4 From library - Creates a copy of a questionnaire from the library.

Very useful if you have created a start template. In practice a "Product" and a "Questionnaire template" can be the same. It all depends on how you will label the template.

Normally a template consists of the following elements: Language(s), Logo(s), Style sheet and one or more questions.

a) Give the questionnaire a name and a description (optional)

b) whether you want to start from a product or a template

c) Select the relevant from the drop down menu

d) References: If you want to match the new data set with the original, you may tick for this ("I intend later....").

5. From archive - Creates a copy of a questionnaire from the archive.
