Crosstab execution levels
CrossTab analysis can be done at one of four different execution levels, depending on the variables selected for Column, Row and Filter. There is no relationship between the variables from Contact History, Event History or Email History, so CrossTab will not allow an analysis to be executed using variables from more than one or these levels.
Similarly, there is no relationship between the variables from Metadata, Event History or Email History, so CrossTab will not allow an analysis to be executed using variables from more than one of these levels.
When a crosstab analysis is executed the execution level is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Panellist Execution Level
If a crosstab is executed at Panellist level, the counts represent counts of panellists. A crosstab will be executed at panellist level if ALL the variables used in Column, Row and Filter are Profile variables.
Profile variables may be used along with variables from ONE of the other levels, but the crosstab will no longer be executed at Panellist level and therefore will no longer show counts of panellists.
In the following example, the crosstab has been executed at Panellist level as only Profile variables have been used in the definition.
If a filter is added using a Contact History variable, the report will no longer be executed at panellist level, it will be executed at Sample History level.
A filter based on Outcome Code has been added to our example.
Sample History execution level
If a crosstab is executed at Sample History level, the data is calculated using Contact History, and the counts represent counts of sample invitations sent.
The crosstab will be executed at Sample History level if one or more of the variables used in Column, Row or Filter is a Contact History variable or a Metadata variable. Profile variables may also be used, but variables from other levels cannot.
The Contact History folder will typically contain the following variables, though they may be different on your database, and will also depend on the settings in Hierarchy Manager.
Event History execution level
If the crosstab is executed at Event History level, the data is calculated using Event History, and the counts represent counts of panel events.
The crosstab will be executed at Event History level if one or more of the variables used in Column, Row or Filter is an Event History variable. Profile variables may also be used, but variables from other levels cannot.
The Event History folder will typically contain the following variables, though they may be different on your database, and will also depend on the settings in Hierarchy Manager.
It should be noted that CrossTab does not currently provide prize-based reporting. Reporting can only be done at Event History level which is claim-based. When looking at prize claim events the counts returned will show the number of prize claims made, which may not be the same as the number of prizes claimed as more than one prize may be claimed at a time.
Email History execution level
If the crosstab is executed at Email History level, the data is calculated from the Email History, and the counts represent counts of emails sent to panellists from Q_Panel. The crosstab will be executed at Email History level if one or more of the variables used in Column, Row or Filter is an Email History variable. Profile variables may also be used, but variables from other levels cannot. The Email History folder will typically contain the following variables, though they may be different on your database, and will also depend on the settings in Hierarchy Manager.
