Sample notification emails
When the Q_Panel Job Queue processes a sample project you will want to know the outcome. The Notification tab is where you request an email to be sent to you and your colleagues to report the outcome of the job.
If the job is successful you may want to see the report and output files. If it is unsuccessful you may need to see the job log file to see what went wrong. These can be sent to you as attachments.
As well as selecting specific users to whom the notification email is to be sent, the Current User can be selected. This means that the user who submits the sample job will receive an email.
Example: send a notification email
- Click the Notification tab and select Add.
- Select the options to Send success email and Send failure email and also select Attach Sample Files, Attach Report Files and Attach Job Log.
You can choose to compress the attached files in the Windows standard Zip format, this is recommended if the output file is likely to be large.
- Now select from the list of Recipients who are to receive these messages:
You can see which ones have email addresses set up for them.
Email addresses for Q_Panel users are maintained within User Manager which can be found under the Security menu. Email addresses for Managers are maintained within Project Manager which can be found under the Maintenance menu.
- Click OK and click Save on the toolbar.
Unless you have remote access to the server this is the only means to receive the output and job log files.
