Viewing contact history

History Manager allows contact history to be searched, viewed and/or exported to a comma-separated file.  Selected contact history records can also be updated.

View History within Sample Manager can also be used to view contact history.

Select History Manager from the Panel Management menu to see the history search dialog.

With the display level set to Project Contact History you can search for contact history records based on a selected prototype, a selected sample or all samples by project date range.

Search by Prototype

Select the Prototype radio button and click on the three-dots button to open the Choose Prototype dialog.

You can search by last modified date and/or the prototype name.  Enter the search parameters and click on the Search button.

From the search results select the prototype name required (only one can be selected) and click OK.

The history search screen is updated with the selected prototype.

Project Date Range

As an additional filter you can enter a Project Date range by selecting the Project Date Range checkbox and entering the start and end date, this will then filter the history results to those where the Project Date is between the start and end date entered.

Click on Show History to view the contact history records that meet the criteria.

All contact history records for the selected prototype (within the project date range if entered) will be displayed.

Scroll to the right to see more information.

Click on the History Search button to view or change the filter criteria.

Search by Sample

Select the Sample radio button and click on the three dots button to open the Choose Sample dialog.

You can search by last modified date and/or the sample name.  Enter the search parameters and click on the Search button.

From the search results select the sample name required (only one can be selected) and click OK.

The history search screen is updated with the selected sample.  Click on Show History to view the contact history records for the selected sample.

All contact history records for the selected sample will be displayed.  Scroll to the right to see more information.

Search by All (Project Date Range)

You can also search for all contact history records for samples within a specified project date range regardless of which prototype they belong to.

Select the All radio button and enter the date range required.  The end date defaults to today’s date, but can be changed.

Enter the project date range and click on Show History.

All contact history records for samples within the date range will be displayed.

View events

History Manager displays the latest outcome for each panellist in a prototype/sample, but a full record of the outcome events relating to the contact history is maintained.  To view all of the contact history outcome events for a particular panellist within a sample click on the View Events flag displayed next to the panellist record.

For example, the event history below shows the outcomes from ‘Issued for Sample’ to ‘Complete’.

Updating contact history

History Manager provides a quick way of doing a backfeed to update contact history for one or more panellists.  This is limited to a maximum of 500 records at a time due to page constraints.

Select the contact history records that you would like to update by ticking the checkbox next to the records.  Only contact history records displayed on the current page can be selected, so you may want to change the page size from the default 18 records displayed to 25, 50, 100 or 500 records using the Page Size dropdown list.  You can also select all contact history records on the current page by ticking the checkbox next to the column headers.

Once you have selected the required contact history record(s) click on the Properties button to see the Contact History Update dialog.

Select the required outcome code from the dropdown list, and enter the fields as appropriate.  The fields that are enabled will be dependent on the rules for the outcome code set in Outcome Code Manager.

Click OK to add the updates to the backfeed process.

Note that the contact history records will not be updated immediately.  The Q_Panel Backfeed Service must be running and response times will depend partly on what other jobs are being processed at the time and on how often the service is scheduled to run.

Exporting contact history

The contact history can be exported to a comma-separated file using the Export button.

 A message will popup, allowing you to open and/or save the results to the required location.

The exported contact history file will contain data for all the columns and panellists currently displayed.   If you require specific columns, such as Response Id, to be exported you must ensure the columns have been added to the display.  If any filters have been applied only the panellists displayed by the filter will be exported.
