Updating panellist status using Panel Manager
Panel Manager allows the user to activate or de-activate panellists. If using Q_Community this will allow them, or prevent them from logging into the Community website.
Activating Panellists
Activating panellists is a group action, please ensure that the group only contains the panellists you want to activate.
Select one or more panellists to be activated by executing a suitable filter and, if necessary, removing or adding panellists to the group.
When you are happy with the selection, check that the In Group and NOT In Group counts show the expected numbers. Page through the filter results to check you have selected the correct panellists (shown in blue) before clicking on Activate from the Group Action toolbar.
In the example below we will also display the Member Enabled column which shows the panellist status.
The Member Enabled variable (or Active) may have a different name in your database.
A message will appear confirming the number of panellists to be activated. Click OK to confirm, or Cancel.
If OK is selected the panellists will be activated and the Member Enabled column will be updated to Yes.
Note for Q_Community installations:
- Panellists cannot be activated unless they have a password in Kentico.
- If a new panellist is activated using Panel Manager rather than by completing the registration process themselves, they will not be awarded points for completing registration.
Deactivating Panellists
To de-activate panellists the same process is required.
De-activating panellists is a group action, please ensure that the group only contains the panellists you want to de-activate.
Select one or more panellists to be de-activated by executing a suitable filter and, if necessary, removing or adding panellists to the group.
When you are happy with the selection, check that the In Group and NOT In Group counts show the expected numbers. Page through the filter results to check you have selected the correct panellists (shown in blue) before clicking on Deactivate from the Group Action toolbar.
A message will appear confirming the number of panellists to be de-activated. Click OK to confirm, or Cancel.
If OK is selected the panellists will be de-activated and the Member Enabled column will be updated to No.
Panel members can also be activated or de-activated from within Edit Panellist Detail by updating the value of the Member Enabled column – either Yes or No. Note that the column may have a different name in your database.
