Adding prize localisations

All prizes, including deleted prizes, are available for localisation.

To add a localisation, open Community/Prize Manager and click on Localisation in the toolbar to display the Prize Localisation Manager screen.

Select the culture from the drop-down list (in this example French-France).

Before adding localisations, cultures must be added using the maintenance tool Culture Manager.

Select the prize to be localised by clicking on the prize name, or by checking the box next to the prize and selecting Properties from the toolbar.  The Prize Localisation dialog box will be shown.

Enter the localisation properties of the prize using the following fields:

Default Name

This shows the prize name in the default culture.  It is read-only.

Localisation

This is a mandatory field which should contain the localised version of the prize name for the selected culture.

Default Notes

This shows the prize notes in the default culture.  It is read-only.

Localisation

This should contain the localised version of the prize notes for the selected culture.  The text can be edited to display using the same formatting as the default prize notes.  This field is optional.

Click on OK to save changes, or Cancel to exit without making any changes.  Any localisations added will be displayed on the Prize Localisation Manager screen next to the default prize name.

Note that if the prize name is localised but the notes are left blank, the default prize notes (if there are any) will be shown in Q_Community.

To add localisations for another culture select a new culture from the Culture drop-down list and repeat the process.

To finish adding localisations select the Close button in the toolbar.

When a panellist with the preferred culture French-France now logs on to Q_Community to look at prizes, they will see the French-France localisation for this prize.  All other prizes will still display the default name and notes.

If they then click on the prize name they will see the detail screen also in French (for this prize).

Prize localisations will also be seen when viewing the prize basket and prize history using the Q_Panel web parts.

Deleting Prize Localisations

To delete a localisation, click on Localisation in the toolbar to display the Prize Localisation Manager screen and select the required culture from the Culture drop-down list.  Select a prize that has a localisation by checking the box next to its name and click on Delete in the toolbar.

The localised name and prize notes will be deleted for the selected prize, and the default prize name and notes will again be displayed when viewing prizes for panellists using this culture.

Only one prize localisation can be deleted at a time.
